Ditches & Drainage

Any water control works performed in the Municipality requires Council approval.

These applications are reviewed at regular scheduled council meetings. Approval for works on private property or within Municipal right-of-way must be obtained before making application to the Province.

All applicants are encouraged to file applications online through the Provincial Water Licencing Portal

To request approval of your project or for help with the application process please contact the Municipal Office.

The Municipality has invested in providing landowners with easier access to the documents required to make such applications to the Province. Our public portal will allow applicants to view the LiDar imagery providing data on Drainage flow, Elevation & Topography, Provincial Wetland Designation, Ag Soil Capacity, and Bare Earth Elevation data available for download to be used in your own programs and applications.

WestLake-Gladstone is currently part of the Whitemud Watershed District with members serving on 6 sub-districts. We encourage those interested in any of the programs that Whitemud Watershed offers such as shelter belt planting, well-sealing, the GROW program, ring dykes, and more to contact their office or you sub-district member.

Anyone interested in serving on a sub-district board is encouraged to contact the Municipal Office.
